Scan the appliance rating plate

Photograph the manufacturer's label so model and product numbers are readable. Fieldbook matches technical identifiers against verified records — it does not invent a machine from the photo.

  • Fill the frame with the rating plate — small labels in a wide shot are harder to read.
  • Hold the camera square to the label; strong angles corrupt model characters.
  • Avoid bright reflections across the identifier line.

This photo is sent to Google Cloud Vision in the EU for text recognition. Fieldbook does not store the photo or raw OCR text.

What to look for

  • Fill the frame with the plate — don't leave the label as a small patch in the photo.
  • Keep the camera square; angled shots often garble model codes.
  • Avoid glare across the identifier line.
  • Bosch / Siemens / NEFF — look for E-Nr
  • AEG / Electrolux / Zanussi — look for PNC or Prod.No.
  • Samsung — look for Model / Model Code
